Tree Frog I (2006)

I think that part of photography is luck and part of it is being able to recognize and take advantage of opportunity. Such is the case with this humble little tree frog that found his way to my patio to snack on bugs. In exchange for his pest control services, I offered him an opportunity for fame as an internet model. Since I don't have a studio or a lot of equipment, I set up a couple of my kitchen chairs (back to back) in front of a white wall, placed a stem from a Gerber daisy across the chair backs, and then positioned a halogen spot light and the frog. He was quite accommodating and let me snap off 40 to 50 shots before he started to look disinterested.
